.500 Average

That would be a great batting average, but no- it’s my removing window panes intact average. I’d procrastinated as long as I could on getting back to restoring the nook windows. So after my dentist appt. this morning, I thought I’d get back to it. Nick reminded my about our Fein Multimaster. According to their website, one of the blades can be used to remove window glazing. On some spots it worked just like the pictures, but on other spots the putty was very stubborn. After awhile I went back to the heat gun, but that wasn’t any easier. So, following the great advice of House in Progress, I re-read all the tips for restoring and reglazing old windows and looked at the links. With a lot of patience, I used the Fein, a chisel and a scraper. One window I cracked last week and I broke two more today. The last three I did came out just fine. Sounds frustrating, I may end up doing some of our remaining original windows some day.
