Back on track and lots to do

We’re close to getting back on track and feel like we are making a little progress. We are slowly making progress on the framing for the first floor and we will be getting the necessary tools for plumbing later this week. The varnishing of doors continues as I don’t have much energy after teaching 4th graders all day, but the doors are set up and ready to go- I just have to set my mind to it and get them done. The sink and dishwasher will move to the new location (new appliances won’t be bought until we’re closer to building the cabinets) and the cat door might be re-installed in the next week. Once the framing is complete and the new doors are all installed we can start laying the flooring back down. Then we can move on to the electrical wiring and will hopefully be able to insulate before cold weather hits. I would be ecstatic if we would be ready for insulation and possibly dry wall by Christmas. I think tonight I’ll resort back to the large list in the kitchen. I’ll put all the short items in one list and then we might be able to get one or two done after work each day. Oh yeah- we still have to finish stripping and sanding the bead board so we’re not heating the entire neighborhood. Oh, have I mentioned that the cats (especially Chloe) love the radiant floor?

I bet they do! ‘Carpet? Who needs cushy carpet? This stuff’s heated!’

Okay, that is just too cute and you guys remind me of us with the pet priorities and the cat door :)

Glad you feel you’re on track- that’s a good feeling. Overall, it seems like you are holding up really well dealing with this BIG project too, which is great.

I think your timeframe sounds realistic too. :)
