Claw foot tub update

Nick used a wire brush cup attachment for the grinder to clean up the outside of the tub, and used chemical stripper on the feet. They turned out great!

Then he primed them:

and then put the first coat of paint on, using Rustoleum spray paint:

That soak in the tub is sounding better and better!

Nice! We haven’t used ours nearly enough since we finished refinishing and installing it, but I’m sure we will. Yours looks great—love the details on the feet, in particular.

Love the tub. It think you have the exact same model we do, so it’s very interesting to see how it looks refinished. It gives me hope.

Looking good! We’re hoping to get a clawfoot for the upstairs master bath (years from now, when we get to that part) so it’s nice to see how well they clean up.

    As always, great job!

It does look great! Glad to see Nick wearing the respirator- that stuff is fum-ey!

The solvents used to refinish the inside of the tub can cause brain damage I have read- scary!

Jocylyn - According to the warning on the can, thse chemicals are only known to cause problems in the state of CA. I think I’m safe. ;)

Looks awesome! Our completed tub is still languishing out in the workshop. :(
