Looking good!

Last week Nick painted the livingroom and dining room. We chose a very pale cream color that has a hint of yellow to it and we’re really happy with how it turned out. It looks good with all the fir. That allowed him to finally install the mantel that he and his dad built awhile ago. I’m still adjusting to this new phase of putting things back together and completing things. Don’t get me wrong, I love this phase, but we’ve been tearing things apart for so long, that it’s really nice to be seeing all the work pay off in the final products. I woke up early this morning, so I turned on the fireplace and Lizzy Mae is sleeping on my lap as I make a quick post. She must think something’s wrong as we usually with Atticus or working- I can’t remember the last time she just sat on my lap. (They’ve been spending the majority of their time outdoors now, but since I’ve stopped feeding the racoons, they now come inside to eat their food.) Anyways… back to the house. Today we pick up Nick’s dad from the airport for another visit. Their plan is to plan out the rest of the kitchen cabinets and put the sawstop to some good use. I can’t wait to post pictures of the progress when I come home from work each day. Here’s to a productive weekend for all you housebloggers! Here are a few pictures where you can kind of see the new paint and the mantel.

What a treat, a few minutes alone with just the cat. It sure makes you realize how much/little time we have!

    NICE!

I really think I am motivated now to rip out the damaged plaster and drywall. The finished result is unbelievable. Great work …
