Okay- I'd like to order this roof!

As we await the estimate for a new roof, I found this cost estimator online. I guessed the measurements, and it only has the basic information, but I really liked the price it came up with! To have our old roof torn off and new 30 year roof put on, it would only cost about $3,000.

Could I please order this roof online and set up delivery and installation for next week?

Yeah, that would be a smokin’ deal. I’m not looking forward to dealing with our roof in a few years. We still have the original cedar shingles underneath, and 2 or 3 layers of asphalt. We’d need a layer of 1/2” ply on the whole thing, since it’s skip sheathed for the shingles right now. We’re thinking of going with rubber shingles, either the ones that looks like slate, or the ones that look like cedar… I guess I better start saving now.

That sounds so much better than the price for our roof!!

Hopefully you don’t have as large of a scope of work as we did (similar to Derek’s above, but only 3 layers of asphalt) …

    Good luck with the estimates!

That doesn’t sound too bad cost-wise. We lucked out when we bought our house the previous owner had recently purchased a whole pallet of shingles with the intention of putting on a new roof. It basically cost us labor.
