Should be a fun week

Nick’s parents get in tonight, so that means two things: Atticus will be spoiled by his grandparents and get to skip “school” a couple of days; and Nick and his dad will make great progress in the kitchen. Nick finished installing the trim and hardware for the pocket door to the pantry and basement. I don’t have a final pic, but here’s what it looked like half way through. It took us forever to find hardware we liked, and of course we ended up paying a bit more for it, but we’re very happy with it. On this door you can lock it from either side. This will keep Chloe from prying the door open and she can go in and out the cat door and sleep in the laundry room if she likes. Lizzy Mae is better behaved and is fine with her basement abode. The pocket door for the bathroom will lock on the inside only. Sorry Atticus- you won’t be able to play any cruel jokes on anyone when you get older!

Okay, back to the pocket door… Here’s the door before all the trim was finished, but the lock was installed.

And here’s a close up of the hardware.

We’ll try to write during the week about the progress with the concrete countertops!

    Greetings,

    The pocket door looks great.

If I may ask, where did you get the pocket door hardware? We’re looking for a set ourselves.

    Thanks,

We got it from Builder’s Hardware in Seattle, but I don’t remember the brand. Nick might remember. I’ll try to find the receipt at home and let you know!
