Ready, Set, Go!!!

It’s 5:30am, and I’m wide awake. At 9 a bunch of our friends and family will be here with wrecking bars, and they’ll demolish part of our home. On purpose. Today is the day we pull down the lathe and plaster in our living & dining rooms in preparation for “The Remodel.” In a way it’s kind of sad – we’re both big fans of lathe and plaster. But it’s decided, and we’re going for it.
Last night we did a bunch of stuff in preparation. We moved the flooring that Jon and I pulled up 2 weekends ago. We moved the fireplace mantel. We moved our roll-away kitchen. We rolled out paper to slow the dust from getting through the sub-floor into the basement (and make it easier to sweep.) And we put up some plastic so that we can pretend the dust wont get everywhere else in the house.
With the kraft-paper down on the floor, we practically have our own indoor track & field!
The coffee’s done brewing, and I need to go build a ramp up to the dumpster. Tune in later and watch us on the ProjectCam!
