Still chippin' away
That kind of sounds like demo work, which we are done with. (Although Nick did find a small bit of lathe and plaster left over under one of the windowsills last week.) I’m referring to the misc. items that have to be finished before drywall. Nick worked on the kitchen electrical circuits and put the cement board up where the backsplash will be in the kitchen. He removed the old circuit that had served us so well and finished up the wiring on the wall by the stove and the kitchen. He added power to the island also. I wasn’t sure that we needed power since we now have more outlets in the kitchen than the entire house used to have. But now that the outlet is there I can see where it would come in very handy for making margaritas or pina colada’s on a hot summer day- just grab the blender and we’ll have a great work spot not far from the fridge and sink. We had a bit of warm weather this last week and I was able to relax a bit on our porch swing, so thoughts of summer and hanging out on the porch have been on my mind.
Next Nick will finish up with the wiring in the kitchen and the last remnants of our tool shop in the kitchen will be taken down and brought back down to the shop. The workstation has served us well & I’ll miss that pegboard. I’m sure I could use it as part of the baking center…
