Vacation and misc.

Nick’s on vacation. This is awesome for this weekend, but will be a new experience when I go to work on Monday. I’m usually the one with the vacation time and Nick’s at work. I’m looking forward to checking in during the day via the webcam and seeing the progress. Today I’m working on prepping the french doors for varnish, but they won’t be ready to install until next weekend at the earliest. I bet he makes great progress on the wiring for the main floor and will start framing in the bases for the cabinets. We’re holding off on installing the bamboo flooring on the second half of the first floor until he builds the cabinet bases, then the flooring can butt right up to the cabinets. The temporary counter top seems like a luxury- any doubts we have about having enough countertops in the new kitchen design are gone- having so little counter space will make a full kitchen truly a “dream kitchen”. Enough of my ramblings- off to clean and then do some sanding.
