Varnish, varnish, varnish

Well, I’m done varnishing the overhead cabinets by the sink. I think I’m going to put an extra coat on the rest of them, since they will see a bit more use. Then I can put the shelf liner on and put things away. It’s not the most exciting work, but it means that we’re one small step closer to putting on the countertops, then the cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and then the hardware. I’m trying to maintain my cool and not get too excited that we are almost done with the kitchen. Knowing that these small finishing details can take time, along with the time for the countertops to cure before polishing, I’m betting the kitchen will be “complete” by Father’s Day. Hmmm… a nice Father’s Day dinner party with our complete kitchen- that sounds like fun!
