War of the dandelions... and me

Unfortunately, I think they’ve already won. After I finish eating I am going to plan a careful, sneaky attack on the dandelions in our yard. (That’s not our yard & hopefully I will get most of them before they go to seed.)

I could probably take out 100 and still not make a huge difference. Plus I heard that if you do end up breaking the root, you get two for each one. No wonder there are so many!

After the sneak attack today, which involves taking out as many roots as possible, I will follow up with a chemical attack when it gets hot- consisting of 100% pure vinegar. It is supposed to kill the dandelions (and everything else), but it should be dry when you do it. So any that come back two fold will meet their demise when the sun starts to shine more and they think they’re going to have their day in the sun.

HAH!

Stay tuned until the end of summer to find out the ultimate victor of this battle.

I use a tool called the “weed hound” it gets most of the roots out. It’s an ongoing battle though, since our neighbour’s lawns are more weeds than grass. Hopefully they mow the dandelions, before they go to seed.

Don’t forget all of the things you can make out of a dandelion.
