Let the drywall begin

When I asked Nick what he wanted to do for Father’s Day he said he wanted to work on the house. So we had breakfast together and he got to work. He’s decided to go ahead and hang the drywall himself, and then we will hire someone to do the mudding and taping. So yesterday he headed to buy 8 sheets of drywall, carry them up the 33 stairs to the front porch, and then hang them. Now it feels like we actually have one “room” on the first floor. He cleaned up the edges of the existing plaster and then put wood strips on the walls so the drywall would match the plaster. Our friend, Sean, came over to help for awhile and by early afternoon, they were done. It’s very exciting to see the project coming together. Yahoo!
